Summary

Marshall Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a GSRP Assistant Teacher. This full-time position involves supporting the lead teacher in delivering high-quality educational experiences to young learners in a nurturing and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and committed to fostering the development of children in accordance with the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) standards.

This position is for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year and has the potential to continue into the next year if a good fit for both parties. Reporting hours are 7:45 AM - 3:15 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing daily lesson plans and activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Support the classroom management by maintaining a positive and safe learning environment for all students.
  • Engage with children in a variety of activities, including play, art, music, and movement, to enhance their learning experiences.
  • Observe and document children's progress, behaviors, and interactions, providing feedback to the lead teacher.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to create an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding children's progress and classroom activities.
  • Assist with daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and transitions between activities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in early childhood education.
  • Adhere to all GSRP guidelines and regulations, ensuring compliance with state and federal standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in early childhood education or willing to work on online training modules to maintain job.
  • Experience working with young children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to engage and connect with children and create a positive learning environment.
  • Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational software are a plus.
  • Must pass background checks and meet any additional state licensing requirements.
