Group Vice President, Infrastructure, Cloud Operations & Developer Experience

UKG is seeking a transformational Group Vice President, Infrastructure, Cloud Operations & Developer Experience to lead the global organization responsible for the infrastructure, cloud platforms, operations, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), platform engineering, and developer experience capabilities that power UKG''s products and services.

Reporting to the CTO, this executive will lead a global organization of 600+ professionals across Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, SRE, Developer Platforms, Technical Program Management, Network Engineering, Engineering Enablement, Test Infrastructure, and FinOps. This leader will be accountable for the reliability, scalability, security, operational excellence, cloud efficiency, and developer productivity of UKG''s technology ecosystem.

The ideal candidate is a proven technology executive with deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, enterprise operations, SRE, DevOps, platform engineering, and organizational transformation. They have successfully led large-scale global teams, modernized operating models, improved reliability and operational maturity, and built high-performing organizations focused on execution, accountability, and customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure, Cloud Platform & Operations Leadership

  • Define and execute UKG''s cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, operations, SRE, developer experience, and FinOps strategy.
  • Lead the modernization of cloud platforms, infrastructure services, automation frameworks, and engineering enablement capabilities.
  • Establish scalable, secure, resilient platforms that support enterprise applications, AI-enabled services, and future innovation initiatives.
  • Drive platform standardization, infrastructure-as-code adoption, automation, observability, and self-service capabilities.
  • Manage strategic cloud and infrastructure partnerships to optimize performance, service quality, and cost efficiency.

Operational Excellence & Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)

  • Own and scale UKG''s global SRE and operational excellence strategy.
  • Drive improvements in service reliability, availability, performance, resilience, disaster recovery, incident response, and operational readiness.
  • Establish and enforce operational standards, service ownership models, SLOs, SLIs, and reliability metrics across the enterprise.
  • Lead initiatives focused on reducing customer-impacting incidents, improving deployment safety, strengthening change management, and accelerating post-incident learning.
  • Champion a culture of accountability where teams are responsible for building, operating, and continuously improving reliable services.

Developer Experience & Engineering Productivity

  • Lead the Developer Experience organization responsible for CI/CD platforms, engineering tooling, test infrastructure, development environments, and engineering workflows.
  • Create scalable platform capabilities that enable engineering teams to build, deploy, secure, observe, and operate software efficiently.
  • Partner with Product Engineering leaders to simplify software delivery, improve onboarding, reduce friction, and accelerate development velocity.
  • Define and measure engineering effectiveness and developer productivity metrics to continuously improve outcomes.

Cloud Efficiency & FinOps

  • Establish cloud financial management practices that improve cost transparency, accountability, forecasting, and optimization.
  • Partner with Engineering, Finance, and Architecture leaders to maximize infrastructure utilization and technology ROI.
  • Foster a culture of operational and financial accountability across engineering organizations.

Organizational Leadership & Transformation

  • Lead and develop a global leadership team spanning Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, SRE, Platform Engineering, Developer Experience, TPM, Network Engineering, and FinOps.
  • Drive organizational transformation, operating model improvements, and enterprise-wide alignment around reliability, operational excellence, and engineering effectiveness.
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, operational discipline, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop leadership talent, succession plans, and organizational capabilities that support long-term growth and scale.

Strategic Partnership & Executive Influence

  • Partner closely with Product Engineering, Architecture, Security, Finance, and Business leaders to align infrastructure and platform investments with company priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CTO on cloud strategy, operational excellence, platform investments, reliability, engineering productivity, and technology economics.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve scalability, performance, reliability, cloud efficiency, and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; Master''s degree preferred.
  • 15+ years leading large-scale infrastructure, cloud engineering, operations, SRE, platform engineering, or developer experience organizations.
  • 10+ years of executive leadership experience managing global teams and senior leaders.
  • Proven success leading organizations of 400+ professionals across multiple geographies and disciplines.
  • Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP), enterprise infrastructure, networking, observability, security, and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling SRE, infrastructure operations, platform engineering, DevOps, automation, and engineering enablement organizations.
  • Proven track record improving operational maturity, service reliability, scalability, cloud efficiency, and engineering productivity in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to balance innovation, reliability, security, customer impact, and cost optimization.
  • Exceptional executive presence, communication skills, and ability to lead large-scale transformation through influence and execution.
  • Passion for developing leaders, building high-performing teams, and fostering a culture of operational excellence and accountability.

The pay range for this position is $365,000 to $414,000. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and work location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus plan and to receive restricted stock unit awards as part of total compensation.
