The JCC is a membership based, non-profit agency which offers educational, recreational, fitness & wellness, cultural and communal programs and activities to people of all abilities and all stages of life.Summary of Position:The JCC is seeking an energetic and motivating certified Group Fitness Instructor, with a keen understanding of customer service and professionalism, to lead dynamic group fitness classes focused on strength training, toning, and full-body conditioning. This role is perfect for an experienced fitness professional who enjoys helping participants build strength, confidence, and community in a welcoming inclusive environment.This is a part-time, overtime non-exempt position with schedule flexibility, reporting to the Director of Fitness. Daytime, evening and weekend shifts available. Schedule will be determined based on availability and program needs.Key Responsibilities:Lead safe, engaging fitness classes that combine strength training, muscle toning, and light cardioDesign class formats adaptable to varying fitness levels and abilitiesProvide clear instruction, demonstrations, and modificationsCreate a positive, supportive, and motivating class atmosphereEnsure proper use of equipment and adherence to safety guidelinesArrive on time, prepared, and ready to lead scheduled classesCommunicate professionally with staff, members and participantsPositively represent the JCC with professional appearance and conductProvide the highest quality of customer service to program participantsUtilize strong interpersonal skills with an eagerness to grow participationFunction as a strong team playerQualifications and Skills:Current group fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, etc.)Practical experience in the field preferredCPR/AED Certification or willingness to obtain (American Red Cross or equivalent)First Aid Certification (American Red Cross or equivalent)Strong interpersonal and communication skillsReliable, professional, and enthusiasticAbility to motivate participants of all ages and abilitiesPhysical Demands:Ability to teach a group fitness classLift a minimum of 50 pounds from the floorAbility to stand or move for an extended period of timePay Range: starting at $40 per class--Key Benefits:Complimentary membership with fitness and pool accessNJ Paid Sick LeaveFlexible schedulePI385ad9ef3aba-25660-40857140
