Group Director, Operations and Implementation (Chief of Staff)

Position Summary...

The Chief of Staff to the EVP & Chief Legal Officer (CLO) is a critical leadership role responsible for driving strategic execution and operational excellence across the Global Governance organization. As a trusted advisor to the CLO, you will lead high-impact initiatives, align cross-functional stakeholders, and help shape the organization''s long-term strategy. This is a unique opportunity to influence enterprise priorities while partnering with senior leaders across Walmart.

About the Team:

Global Governance plays a key role in enabling effective decision-making, strategic alignment, and operational excellence across the enterprise. The team partners closely with Legal, Finance, HR, Communications, and Technology to advance critical business priorities and organizational transformation efforts. As Chief of Staff, you will serve as a central connector across these functions, helping drive execution, accountability, and impact at scale.

What you'll do...

• Lead annual and multi-year strategic planning efforts, translating priorities into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
• Oversee key transformation initiatives, governance processes, and portfolio management activities to ensure successful execution of organizational priorities.
• Partner with Finance and leadership teams to manage budgets, improve operational efficiency, and identify opportunities to mitigate risk.
• Design and manage operating rhythms, including leadership meetings, business reviews, and offsite planning sessions.
• Drive executive communications and stakeholder engagement while building strong cross-functional partnerships across HR, Finance, Communications, and Technology.

What you'll bring:

• 10+ years of experience in program management, legal operations, corporate strategy, business operations, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success leading large-scale organizational transformation and managing complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders and communicate effectively across various stakeholder groups.
• Experience managing budgets, governance processes, and operational planning within a large, matrixed organization.
• MBA, Legal Operations background, PMP certification, Agile certification, or related credentials preferred, along with experience leading teams through organizational change.

The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00 - $320,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
