JOB SUMMARY:
Performs skilled Groundskeeping tasks and is responsible for maintaining a visually appealing and functional outdoor space for our residents and guests to enjoy; proficiency in plant identification of common plant names; ability to perform installation, foliage maintenance, and basic clean up. A Groundskeeper is someone who has a passion for working outside, regardless of the weather. They have a detailed understanding of which plants work best for their climate and plant flowers and other greenery in accordance with the seasons.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the care, maintenance and beatification of our community and resort plant beds.
Responsible for trimming/pruning shrubs, ground covers, vines and some trees and palms with hand-held tools and power equipment.
Performs removal, installation and maintenance of plant material in beds and containers, and manual weeding.
Operating and maintaining hand tools, such as loppers, saws, and shovels efficiently.
Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment, golf carts, trailers, and power tools.
Keeping grounds free from trash, litter, and debris, and leaves, needles and other dead plant materials.
Capable of working independently and as part of a team
Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION:
High school degree or GED preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Three to five years landscape maintenance experience, preferably in a commercial, residential or resort environment required;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
Must be able to operate various loud and vibrating maintenance tools and equipment
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and move safely over uneven terrain.
Able to work inside and outdoors and in various climates
