Position Summary:

 

Orlando Health is a 3,200-bed system that includes 15 wholly-owned hospitals and emergency departments; rehabilitation services, cancer institutes, heart institutes, imaging and laboratory services, wound care centers, physician offices for adults and pediatrics, skilled nursing facilities, an in-patient behavioral health facility, home healthcare services in partnership with LHC Group, and urgent care centers in partnership with CareSpot Urgent Care. Position Summary

The groundskeeper is responsible for taking care of the outdoors of hospital properties to include sidewalks, driveways, docks, and patios.
Performs outside upkeep and operating equipment such as, but not limited to, pressure washer, street sweeper, leaf blower, billy goat,
scrubber, and cart washing machine.


Essential Functions
• Responds to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
• Responsible for daily landscape work assignments performed within the department.
• Works under the immediate direction of the Lead or Supervisor.
• Works in conjunction with outside contractors and vendors as needed to maintain the physical appearance of all Orlando Health
properties.
• Responsible for requisitions supplies and tools for landscape team.
• Operates a variety of power equipment and hand tools associated with landscaping such as, but not limited to, pressure washer,
leaf blower, Billy Goat, and cart washing machine.
• Maintains work area and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
• Follows all standard and prescribed Orlando Health safety regulations.
• Responsible for performing litter and debris pick up tasks on the grounds of the hospital and/or on designated areas that will
leave area clean and litter-free.
• Must have practical knowledge of all department related computer systems. Must be able to complete required mandatory
educational training.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal,
state, and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.


Other Related Functions
• Participates in scheduled department meetings.
• Maintains the confidentiality and security of all data and information relating to the facilities.
• Abides by all relevant facility policies and procedures.
• Assist in Environmental Services responsibilities as needed.
• Attends in services/meetings as required.
• Participates in Department Quality Assurance activities as assigned.
• Assist with training of other groundskeepers as requested.
• Complete other task as assigned by EVS Leadership.
• Reports unsafe situations and turns in Engineering Service Requests for repair.


Education/Training
High School Diploma or GED, preferred.


Licensure/Certification
DOT (Department of Transportation) Certification within the first ninety (90) days.
May require valid Florida driver’s license with no more than six (6) points, at least 21 years of age, and must be insurable under the
Orlando Health insurance carrier’s requirements and standards.
Valid Driver’s Licenses, preferred.


Experience
Six (6) months professional experience in the operation of power and hand tools associated with landscaping.
