Assistant Store Manager

Support the Vision. Lead the Team. Elevate the Experience.

We are partnering with a people-first grocery concept focused on fresh quality, clean stores, and strong community connection. This is an opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about developing teams while supporting store-wide success.

As the Assistant Store Manager, you will work closely with the Store Director to drive daily execution, uphold high standards, and create a positive, high-performing store culture.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the Store Director in leading day-to-day store operations across all departments
  • Help create a fresh, in-stock, and easy-to-shop environment that exceeds guest expectations
  • Drive execution around merchandising, inventory, and store conditions
  • Assist in managing inventory levels, ordering, and shrink control
  • Lead from the floor—coaching, developing, and supporting team members in real time
  • Help build a culture centered around accountability, teamwork, and hospitality
  • Partner with department leaders to ensure consistent execution and cross-functional support
  • Step in to support front-end operations, including customer service, issue resolution, and register coverage when needed
  • Assist with scheduling, hiring, training, and performance management
  • Support execution of special orders, catering, and seasonal initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, cleanliness, and operational standards
  • Act as Manager-on-Duty, including opening and closing responsibilities

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in grocery or high-volume retail leadership (Assistant Manager, Department Manager, or similar)
  • Strong passion for people development, fresh product, and store presentation
  • Hands-on leadership style with a sense of urgency and ownership mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while staying focused on execution
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable supporting front-end, back-of-house, and team leadership functions
  • Working knowledge of inventory control, labor management, and store operations
  • Food safety knowledge with ability to maintain required certifications

Why This Opportunity

  • Culture-driven environment focused on people and growth
  • Strong leadership support and mentorship from Store Director
  • Opportunity to grow into a Store Director role
  • Team-oriented environment with a focus on fresh quality and operational excellence
  • Competitive compensation and benefits

If you’re a leader who enjoys being in the action, developing people, and helping run a great store day in and day out—this is a strong next step in your career.
