JOB TITLE: Green House Worker REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years old and able to lift up to 60lbs. Must have at least 3 months experience working in a greenhouse nursery, handling both manual and machine-operated tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities. Worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures and must be able to perform repetitive movements, extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting or walking and frequent stooping or bending over. Workers must be able to and indicate willingness to work the entire season and must have transportation to the job site at the start of the season and daily thereafter. All workers will be fully apprised of the employment terms, conditions, and nat JOB DESCRIPTION: All job duties are closely and directly related to general farm labor that consists of greenhouse plant care and any combination of the following tasks will be performed, to include: Nursery planting/production Tomato pruning Sorting, picking and packaging, weeding, watering, general plant care. Loading and unloading products off racks and trucks. Manually seed, plant, transplant, cultivate, harvest and sort produce. Workers will perform all work associated with growing and harvesting greenhouse-grown vegetables. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning, hooks, shears, and knives. Maintain greenhouse irrigation equipment. Harvest vegetables by hand. Harvest, clean, grade, label, box, and build pallets for vegetables grown in the greenhouse. Work will also require ditch cleaning, general farm cleanup activities, mowing, warehouse work, and other work associated with a small vegetable farm and greenhouse operation. Work requires standing, sitting, kneeling, and lifting 60 lbs. Work hours may vary according to daily scheduled. Workers must have a minimum of three months prior experience working in a greenhouse nursery, handling both manual and machine tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities. The Employer will provide no training. ANTICIPATED HOURS OF WORK PER WEEK: Forty (40) hours per week, Monday thru Friday from 7:00AM to 4:00PM. Work days, hours and start/end times may vary depending on the season and weather. Work on a Sabbath day or holiday may be necessary during peak periods, but is optional.
