Title: GRC Engineer (Python, Node.js, Cloud)
Locations: San Jose, CA
Duration: 06+ Months with Possible Extension.
Pay Range: $50-$60/Hour on W2/C2C (All inclusive)
We are seeking a highly skilled GRC Engineer with strong software engineering and cloud development experience to design, build, and support secure, compliance-focused platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Python backend development, Node.js, React.js, REST APIs, microservices, cloud technologies, database architecture, and security engineering.
This role requires a builder mindset someone who can develop and implement compliance automation solutions, security controls, governance workflows, and audit-ready systems rather than focusing only on policy or audit activities.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 6 8 years of experience in software engineering, security engineering, or GRC engineering roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python backend development and REST API development.
- Strong experience with Node.js, React.js, JSON, and database schema-level understanding.
- Experience designing and developing microservices-based applications using modern architectures.
- Hands-on expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Strong database experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle, etc.
- Experience building secure, scalable applications with strong understanding of:
- RBAC
- OAuth2/JWT
- Encryption
- IAM
- Audit logging
- Secure coding practices
- Experience integrating security and compliance controls into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps).
- Strong understanding of GRC and compliance frameworks including:
- SOC 2
- ISO 27001
- NIST
- FedRAMP
- Other enterprise security frameworks
- Experience developing or supporting:
- Compliance automation platforms
- Risk/control management systems
- Governance workflows
- Audit-ready applications
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Node.js frameworks.
- Exposure to real-time compliance monitoring and governance platforms.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as banking, healthcare, fintech, or enterprise security.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as:
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools:
- Prometheus
- Grafana
- Datadog
- CloudWatch
- Exposure to GenAI/AI-driven compliance automation.
- Experience with data governance, lineage, and audit traceability systems.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, DevSecOps, and secure SDLC practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with security, compliance, and engineering teams.
