Position Summary:

The Graphic Artist is responsible for designing and developing high-quality multimedia and interactive training products for web-based environments. This role partners with NNL and Navy subject matter experts to support the creation of engaging, compliant, and technically accurate training solutions.

Pay Range: $100,000 to $120,000, DOE.

Note: This position requires a security clearance. The selected candidate is expected to begin the clearance process in June, with a planned onsite start date of October 1 in Pittsburgh, PA or Ballston, NY. Additional details regarding onboarding and interim arrangements will be discussed during the hiring process.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop multimedia products for web-based training environments.
  • Design vector and raster graphics using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Create interactive media and animations using Adobe Animate.
  • Support development of SCORM-compliant training modules within a Learning Content Management System (LCMS)
  • Develop interactive training applications using object-oriented programming principles.
  • Create storyboards outlining sequencing, flow, and interactivity of training products.
  • Collaborate with NNL and Navy subject matter experts to support curriculum development and implementation.
  • Troubleshoot software and multimedia development issues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards including SCORM, Tin Can (xAPI), and Section 508.

Competencies:

  • Strong multimedia design and development skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Illustrator, Photoshop, Animate)
  • Knowledge of web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML)
  • Understanding of eLearning standards (SCORM, xAPI, accessibility)
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and creativity.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical stakeholders.

Education & Experience:

  • Associate's degree with a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience developing multimedia and interactive training content.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS)
  • Experience with 3D modeling and animation preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel)
