The Department of Education, Office of Grants Management, is seeking a Grants Management Specialist to support the administration and oversight of federal grant programs. This position is responsible for managing the distribution of federal funds for the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Child and Adult Nutrition Services programs and assisting with the oversight of U.S. Department of Education grant programs.
We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will help ensure the effective implementation of high-quality federal grant programs while maintaining compliance with all applicable fiscal and regulatory requirements.
Primary responsibilities include reviewing grant claims, budgets, and financial reports; determining the allowability of program activities and expenditures; monitoring subrecipient grant spending; and providing technical assistance and training to schools and other subrecipient organizations. Training on specific federal grant requirements will be provided to the selected candidate.
