Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The orientation coordinator serves as the students' initial contact with the Adult Education - high school equivalency prep program. Responsible for conducting presentations, explaining and clarifying program services, requirements, and intake forms. The Coordinator will be responsible for following up with students to ensure completion of all intake forms, ensure attendance for testing, and confirm registration into a course. Will also assist with administrative tasks such as closing out student orientation grades in Colleague and following up with inquiries for new students.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate Degree

Six (6) months related experience.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Strong Customer Service Skills

Ability to lead presentations and speak with groups

Proficient with computers

Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual.

Skilled or trained in public speaking or relations.

Job Duties

Job Duty

Conduct weekly orientations for Adult Education high school equivalency prep grant program, using existing presentation and required forms. Addresses student questions during orientation, providing follow up information as needed.

Contact students after orientation to ensure that all participants provide required documentation, complete tests, and successfully enroll in and attend courses.

Outreach, promote and communicate with potential students to direct them to available orientations.

Job Duty

Complete administrative tasks pertaining to the documentation of orientations, including maintaining and turning in sign in sheets, logging orientation attendance, and reviewing all student documents for accuracy and completion.
