The Clinical Practice Operations Coordinator supports the College of Nursing by coordinating the administrative, compliance, and operational functions that sustain clinical education. Reporting to and collaborating with the Clinical Practice Operations Manager, this role helps build and maintain relationships with clinical partners to secure and retain quality placement opportunities. The Coordinator also monitors and tracks compliance for students, faculty, and adjunct instructors to ensure alignment with facility and program requirements. In collaboration with the Assistant Dean for Finance and Operations, the position supports adjunct onboarding and FLAC processing, contributing to efficient and reliable clinical and academic operations. Through this work, the position directly supports the Flourishing in the Nursing Profession Nurse Be Well Phase II grant by strengthening the operational infrastructure that underpins faculty and student well-being, resilience, and retention across clinical learning environments.

This position is funded in whole or in part by a grant. Employment is subject to the continued availability of grant funding and does not imply a guarantee of employment beyond the grant period.

Primary position responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and sustain clinical partnerships by assisting in identifying, onboarding, and maintaining relationships with new and existing sites to meet program growth and placement needs. This includes supporting expansion within pre-licensure programs (from approximately 320 to 427 placements) and the graduate department (from approximately 75 to 240 placements) as the College continues to grow its clinical footprint. Through this work, the Administrator advances the Flourishing Phase II grant objective of strengthening clinical learning environments that promote student and faculty well-being and workforce retention.
  • Under supervision of the Clinical Practice Operations Manger, coordinate and monitor compliance for students, clinical faculty, and adjunct instructors to ensure all documentation and requirements align with facility, accreditation, and program standards. Communicate with clinical partners as needed to confirm documentation and placement readiness. Accurate compliance management supports the grant's focus on creating psychologically safe, well-supported clinical settings that enable thriving and resilience.
  • Coordinate operations for assigned clinical practice areas, including scheduling placements, tracking documentation for assigned sites, and maintaining records and correspondence. Collaborate with the Clinical Practice Operations Manager to ensure placements within these areas are accurate, current, and support overall program goals. These coordinated operations form the infrastructure for Flourishing Phase II activities-ensuring that wellness, mentorship, and belonging initiatives are integrated into clinical experiences statewide.
  • In collaboration with the Clinical Practice Operations Manager, assist with special initiatives related to clinical expansion, process improvement, and workflow standardization as the College grows from approximately 395 to over 650 clinical placements across programs over the next 2-5 years. Process improvements in clinical education directly contribute to the grant's statewide goal of sustainable, resilient nursing education systems that reduce burnout and enhance retention.
  • Coordinate adjunct faculty engagement and onboarding, including communication, documentation, and FLAC processing in collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Finance & Administration, the Provost Office FLAC Coordinator and HR, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to institutional policies. Effective adjunct onboarding aligns with the Flourishing Phase II grant's commitment to supporting faculty well-being, development, and retention within Tennessee's nursing workforce.
