The Basics
Location: Council Bluffs, IA
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience
Days/Hours: This job will be 2nd shift, 2pm to midnight, Mon-Thurs but you will work outside those hours, including weekends.
Equipment Used: Various grain handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs
Material Handled: Bulk corn

What you'll be doing:
The Shift Manager is responsible for providing training, support and assistance to hourly team members. You will have a key role in maintaining a safe and sanitary workplace in compliance with Company policies and applicable regulations.
Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:
Commitment to worker safety, regulatory compliance and adherence to Company policies and procedures.
Loading, unloading, sampling, grading, transferring, blending, drying, storage, aeration and fumigation of grain.
Effectively assist with the supervision and management of personnel and operational activities.
Assist with managing the business to plan according to pre-set objectives.
Be familiar with all operations, systems, policies and procedures including, but not limited to:
Weighing or measuring materials and products and using scales or other measuring instruments in order to verify specified tonnages
Manipulating controls, levers, and valves to start pumps, auxiliary equipment, or conveyors, and to adjust equipment positions, speeds, timing, and material flows
Recording and tracking data such as weights, types, quantities, and storage locations of materials, as well as equipment performance problems and downtime
Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining equipment, machinery, and work stations, using hand tools, shovels, brooms, chemicals, hoses, and lubricants
Observing conveyor operations and monitor lights, dials, and gauges, in order to maintain specified operating levels and to detect equipment malfunctions.
Assist with preventative maintenance protocols and elevator operations.
Effectively communicate tasks, directives and policies with both senior management and supervised team members.
