Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary:

Professional Development Graduate Assistant provides valuable support to the Law School Professional Development program.

  • Assist with evaluating student submissions in Professional Development classes for compliance with assignment requirements.
  • Assist in the creation of course assignments and presentations, including conducting subject matter research and developing materials.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of Professional Development course guides and class policies; make informed decisions based on course guides, precedent, and policies; assist students by responding to routine questions regarding the courses.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including room reservations, parking passes for guest speakers, and other administrative duties.
  • Track and report class attendance.
  • Communicate with students via email and Suitable.
  • Post assignments to Suitable and Brightspace.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of any database or software necessary to support the Professional Development curriculum, including Suitable.
  • Work independently without daily supervision; exercising professional judgment when consulting with students and law school staff and faculty.
  • Manage time and adhere to time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of projects and course assignments.

Requirements:

  • Must be a currently enrolled graduate student at Villanova University.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and strict attention to detail and reliability.
  • Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and be able to handle difficult situations.
  • Must have ability to work and make decisions independently.
  • Must have ability to perform repetitive tasks with great accuracy and consistency.
  • Must have experience using software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience using Brightspace is preferred.

Additional Information: Physical Demands Summary: Wage Rate: $15 per hour
