The Department of Athletics at Indiana Tech serves as an integral part of the university and is an important participant in its mission. The commitment of the Department of Athletics is to enhance the student experience and to provide quality programs that are competitive, fun and meaningful in an atmosphere that promotes success within the spirit of fair play, sportsmanship and integrity.

The Department of Athletics Graduate Assistant position(s) shall support the student-athlete experience by executing duties directly related to the success, engagement, and retention of JV student-athletes through academic and personal mentorship and individual athletic and technical development.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as a direct contact for the JV program in the appropriate sport, including, but not limited to the following:

  • Execute team practices and establish goals for individual and team development;

  • Plan and execute competitive team and individual strategy during the appropriate season schedule;

  • Coordinate team travel, in cooperation with the Head Coach, including operating vehicles to and from away contests;

  • Monitor Study Tables participation and coordinate student-athlete academic success initiatives;

  • Serve as an accessible resource and point of contact for JV student-athletes in the program.

  • Support the recruitment and enrollment goals of the sport program and Department of Athletics;

  • Support the mission, vision, and strategic plan of Indiana Tech

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Valid Operator's License and a good driving record required
  • Have current First Aid/CPR training; or the ability to obtain such before employment

Experience

  • Prior participation experience with a college sports program (ex. playing, managing, supporting)

Working Conditions

  • Nights and weekends required
  • Travel for competitions and recruiting required
