The Athletics Department at Bryant University invites applications for the 2‑year Graduate Assistant position in Production/Broadcasting (Webcasting). Bryant University is an NCAA Division I program, sponsoring 25 varsity sports, and is a member of the America East Conference as well as an associate member of the Coastal Athletic Association, Big South, and East Coast Conferences. This position reports to the Associate Athletic Director for External Relations (or designated athletics administrator).

The Graduate Assistant for Production/Broadcasting (Webcasting) will assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of live and on‑demand broadcasts for Bryant Athletics events. This position plays a critical role in ensuring all webcasts meet or exceed ESPN+, Conference, NCAA, and institutional broadcast standards, delivering a professional, consistent, and high‑quality viewing experience.

Salary Range:

GA compensation includes a full tuition waiver, housing, and a $1,500.00 stipend in Spring and Fall semesters starting August 1. Graduate School is a 2‑year part‑time program beginning August 2026 through August 2028.

Principal Accountabilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the production and broadcasting of live athletic events on ESPN+ and conference digital platforms, ensuring compliance with all applicable broadcast standards
  • Supporting game productions that meet ESPN+ expectations, including proper camera counts and placement, audio quality, graphics integration, replay usage, and overall broadcast flow
  • Operating broadcast equipment including cameras, switchers, audio boards, replay systems, and graphics software
  • Assisting with directing, producing, camera operation, graphics, and replay during live events
  • Ensuring correct and timely integration of score bugs, lower thirds, sponsorship elements, and required ESPN+ graphics packages
  • Monitoring broadcast quality in real time and troubleshooting technical issues to maintain ESPN+ standards
  • Scheduling, training, and supervising student broadcast crews, emphasizing professionalism, preparation, and adherence to ESPN+ protocols
  • Assisting with setup, breakdown, maintenance, and inventory of production and webcasting equipment
  • Collaborating with athletics communications, marketing, and operations staff to support storytelling, branding, and fan engagement initiatives
  • Assisting with administrative tasks including scheduling, documentation, production notes, and meeting summaries
  • Performing other duties as assigned

This position requires significant availability on nights, weekends, and select holidays based on competition and broadcast schedules.

Qualifications

Requires an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution and acceptance into the Bryant University Graduate School (acceptance must be confirmed before candidate will be considered).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with live event production and broadcasting, preferably in an NCAA Division I or conference/ESPN+ environment
  • Familiarity with ESPN+ broadcast standards, workflows, and production expectations
  • Working knowledge of video production equipment and software, including cameras, switchers, replay systems, and graphics platforms
  • Experience training and supervising student production crews
  • Strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to remain composed in live‑event environments
  • Exposure to intercollegiate athletics operations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
