Position Type: Graduate Assistant Job Category: Education Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Description Position Title: Graduate Assistant, Palla Center for International Programs Hours Per Week: 20 Supervisor: Dr. Györgyi Mihályi, Director, Palla Center for International Programs Compensation: Tuition Waiver Starting Date: August 2026 Job Type: Part-time Position Overview: The Palla Center for International Programs is seeking a personable and highly motivated Graduate Assistant to work 20 hours each week, supporting the operations of the International Student Services (ISS) team. This role will provide hands-on experience in student services, cross-cultural communication, and administrative support, with opportunities for leadership in programming and international student engagement. Responsibilities: Work closely with the staff of the International Student Services and others as assigned Direct student inquiries to the appropriate staff within the ISS department Answer general questions via phone, ticketing system, and in-person Support ISS projects as assigned Manage and update databases and communication lists Participate in and oversee the International Student Organization at Cumberland Participate in department meetings and functions- as needed Assist with preparation and delivery of orientation sessions and other events including residencies each semester Assist with other projects as requested by the Director Qualifications: Must have a 3.0 or above overall GPA Admission (or anticipated admission: Fall 2025) into a Cumberland University master's program Excellent written and verbal communication Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills Strong attention to detail and strong work ethic Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
