The purpose of this position is to provide office advanced administrative support for the Registrar's Office.

Essential Job Duties

  • Act as one of the first points of contact to students, faculty, staff, parents, and community members to include walk-ins and telephone calls.
  • Provide direct support to students, faculty, staff, parents, and community.
  • Assist the Administrative Assistant in scanning, indexing, and verifying data integrity for the document management system.
  • Occasionally participate in and assist with Preview Day and Orientation information fairs, and other recruitment and informational events on campus.
  • Assist other members of the team during peak times, such as registration, beginning and end of terms, graduation, campus visits, orientations days, etc.
  • Function as an active integral part of the Registrar's Office and University teams in support of their missions and the UM Strategic plan.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Enrollment in a UM graduate degree program

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Be self-directed and motivated.
  • Adhere to strict ethical and legal requirements concerning confidentiality and protecting information. Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to interact with students, faculty, and staff in a positive and effective way.
  • Dress appropriately for a professional setting.
  • Ability to use office equipment (Xerox copier and Multi-line Phone system).
  • Must be familiar with MS Office programs.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
