Midland University, a private, faith-based, liberal arts university in Fremont, Nebraska (just outside of metro Omaha), is accepting applications for the Graduate Assistant - Athletic Communications position. This position will be offered within our graduate assistant structure, requiring admission to the University's Master of Education, Master of Science Learning and Talent Development, Master of Science and Sports Administration and Leadership, or Master of Business Administration programs. The candidate will write game, meet, and event summaries, create press releases, produce athletics publications, stat keeping, and other tasks and duties.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Representing Midland University
- Writing/Editing and meeting deadlines
- Graphic design
- Statistics and record-keeping
- Social media
- Website maintenance
- Video production
Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree (English, Communications, Sports Management or similar preferred)
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to multitask
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- A minimum of one semester of demonstrable previous experience in an SID office setting
Additional Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a writer, journalist, yearbook editor, or similar
- Adobe Creative Suite software experience
- Video filming and editing experience
- Experience with graphic/publication design using Photoshop and InDesign
- StatCrew and/or DakStats software experience

Compensation:
- Tuition Remission in the master's program. The level of remission is dependent on the degree pursued.
- Free Campus meal plan (15 meals per week), dependent on the degree pursued.
