The applicant should possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (both oral and written). Candidates must be computer proficient (Microsoft Office and Google apps), enthusiastic, outgoing and willing to learn and take on multiple tasks. Preference is given to candidates who possess interest in and experience with event planning, interdisciplinary programs and social media use. Confidentiality, as well as strong attention to detail, are critical in this position. Job Duties and Responsibilities

GAAs working in the Graduate School spend the majority of their time engaged in projects related to graduate education. Although responsibilities vary, they may include:

  • Programming and event planning, communication, advertising and social media management around events;
  • Curriculum development related to interdisciplinary studies;
  • Outreach to current and prospective students;
  • Grad student support and advocacy.

In addition to research/coordination responsibilities, GRAs in the Graduate School aid the Graduate School staff with administrative-type responsibilities. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Social media app management;
  • Providing support for the supervisor- processing mail, answering phones, etc.;
  • Assisting supervisor with the preparation of written correspondence to students

Required Education and/or Experience

Conferred Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
