The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace's strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space and space-enabled capabilities.

The Space Control and Awareness Department (SCAD) is seeking a new team member to support GPS mission operations and analyses. SCAD performs concept development, systems engineering, architecture analysis, algorithm development and evaluation support for national security space customers emphasizing space domain awareness (SDA), Radar, Electro-Optical (EO) and Infrared (IR) sensors, Position Navigation and Timing (PNT), orbit determination, and space protection and security.

The GPS Operations and Space Domain Awareness Analyst will provide support and analysis to GPS operations, algorithm development, and modeling and simulation for space protection and space domain awareness. Candidate will interact directly with government customers and contractor teams, as well as Aerospace program office personnel in the Colorado Springs area and collaborate closely with Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) and program office personnel in El Segundo, CA, Chantilly, VA, and other locations.

Work Model: This is a 100% on-site position located in Colorado Springs, CO.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide GPS Operations support to teams located at Schriever SFB.

  • PNT, astrodynamic analytical support, algorithm development, and modeling and simulation analysis for GPS and space surveillance systems and missions.

  • Conduct a range of analysis using a framework of modeling, simulation and analysis capabilities including in-house, custom and commercially available/government provided modeling tools

  • Application of modeling and simulation for mission operations

  • Provide independent assessments and lead studies with teams of analysts

What you need to be a successful GPS Operations and Space Domain Awareness Analyst

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or another related technical discipline

  • Experience with GPS, PNT, SDA, or space control mission areas

  • Experience in modeling, simulation, analysis, and/or algorithm development

  • Experience in at least one the following programming languages; Java, C++, Python, MATLAB, C, or FORTRAN.

  • Good interpersonal communication and briefing skills along with the ability to work independently and interact effectively with high-level government, Aerospace, and contractor personnel.

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.  U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How you can stand out

  • Advanced technical degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or another related technical discipline

  • Current SECRET or TS/SCI clearance.

  • Strong background in GPS operations.

  • Strong background in astrodynamics analysis or estimation

  • Experience with satellite subsystems or flight software

  • Operational experience as an orbit analyst, space control operator, battle manager in the air, space or missile domains.

  • Experience with space surveillance network sensor operations, or other SOSI network sensor operations

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
