Golf House Supervisor
Serves golf course guests food and beverage items in a prompt, professional and courteous manner. Assists the department manager with training, development and implementing customer service standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Organizes and conducts pre-shift meetings to review specials, menu changes, house counts, etc.
- Ensures that food and beverage items are replenished on the cart and in the snack bar as needed to meet demand.
- Assists Clubhouse Manager with menu design and content.
- Assists in monitoring business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
- Ensures efficient service to golfers.
- Resolves issues, customer questions or concerns regarding any menu or cart item.
- Upholds quality standards.
- Communicates escalated guest concerns or comments immediately to the Club House Manager.
- Implements and maintains cash handling and cost control procedures. Understands POS programming and sales functions.
- Implements opening, closing, prep and cleaning checklists.
- Implements processes and procedures for ensuring proper cart maintenance. Communicates with maintenance department or department manager when carts need to be repaired or serviced.
- Ensures established standards for greeting, cocktail service, food delivery and general service techniques are followed.
- Ensures compliance with alcohol service regulations.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by management.
- Maintains established sanitation standards for the department.
- Assists manager in communicating any changes or new policies and procedures to the department personnel.
- Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager.
Skills/Abilities:
- Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, cost and other expenses.
- Able to solve practical problems
Education/Experience:
- One to three months' supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Sanitation Training
- Alcohol Awareness Training
- Food and Safety
- Cook experience a plus
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Tips training
- Must be 18 years of age.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and walk on their feet for 95% of the shift.
- Must be able to sit at a desk to complete administrative duties as needed.
- Must be able to reach, bend, twist, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks as required.
- High physical stamina to handle long shifts, typically standing and walking for 6–8+ hours.
- Lifting/carrying trays up to 50 lbs. Constant bending, stooping, reaching, and navigating fast-paced environments while balancing plates.
- Carrying, balancing, and maneuvering through crowded, often noisy, environments.
- Handling objects, serving food, and operating POS systems continuously.
- Potential exposure to heat from kitchens and varying, often loud, temperatures in the dining area.
