As the Golf Grounds Supervisor, you will help lead the daily maintenance and presentation of these championship courses, ensuring exceptional playing conditions while supporting and developing a high-performing grounds team. Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate Golf Grounds associates while assigning daily tasks and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
- Course Maintenance Oversight: Coordinate and participate in daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and landscaped areas to maintain championship playing conditions.
- Turf & Agronomic Management: Assist in implementing agronomic programs, including mowing schedules, aerification, topdressing, fertilization, pest management, and irrigation practices to promote healthy turf.
- Irrigation & Equipment Coordination: Monitor irrigation systems for proper operation and assist in troubleshooting irrigation issues. Ensure equipment is operated safely and communicate maintenance needs to minimize downtime.
- Quality & Safety Standards: Conduct routine inspections of the golf courses and surrounding grounds to ensure appearance, playability, and safety standards are consistently met. Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Operational Support: Collaborate with the Golf Course Superintendent to plan daily operations, prioritize projects, manage weather-related adjustments, and support tournament preparation and special events.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in golf course maintenance, turf management, landscaping, or grounds maintenance required.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of golf course maintenance practices, irrigation systems, and turf management principles.
- Ability to safely operate golf course maintenance equipment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and maintain a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
