Golf Cart Attendant (20 HRS)

Job Title: Golf Cart Attendant Classification: Non-Exempt Department: Shary Golf Course Division: Club House Supervisor: Golf Director Effective: 02/14/2024

I. JOB SUMMARY

Individual provides cart and range service to the patrons. Assists in maintaining golf carts to ensure proper working condition. Checks for damage and washes golf carts on a daily basis. Fixes flat tires and performs other minor repairs (e.g. replaces bearings, wheels, handles, etc.) on a as needed basis. Assists in testing and recharging batteries. May tow golf carts (max. two carts) back to cart barn from staging area. Operates range picker on the driving range to retrieve balls and washes the range balls after each retrieval. May also perform delivery and pickup duties using city vehicle as required. May assist in tournament operations as directed.

II. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Ø High school diploma or G.E.D.; preferred

III. EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

Ø Applicant will be subject to a complete background investigation. Incomplete, inaccurate and/or failure to report information will cause the applicant rejection from consideration.

Ø Applicant must take and pass a drug, physical, and pre-placement screenings administered by the City of Mission doctor at the City's expense.

Ø Applicant must have a current valid class "C" driver license from the Department of Public Safety with no more than two (2) moving traffic violations within the past two (2) years.

IV. SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

? Ability to interpret city policy and procedures as related to the job position and communicate the same to the general public, co-workers, and personnel.

? Ability to follow a firm work schedule as directed by supervisor.

? Ability to work different shifts which will include weekends and holidays as directed by the supervisor.

? Ability to maintain and develop a good working relationship with the supervisor and co-workers.

? Possess the knowledge about the game of golf.

? Ability to perform required role in emergency situations.

? Ability to provide outstanding customer service to the general public regarding the golf course and the game of golf.

? Ability to make decisions based on verifiable criteria.

? Ability to produce work to precise tolerances or standards.

? Ability to perform and complete general and specific assignments under little direct supervision allowing for use of independent judgement.

? Ability of precision work in use of hand tools to produce specific standards.

? Ability to speak clearly and hear well enough to communicate and maintain a good working relationship with the general public, co-workers, and supervisor.

? Ability to perform manual labor as required.

? Ability to have a willingness to learn.

V. EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS

General office and safety equipment/materials to include but not limited to the following:

? City vehicle, Golf carts, Automotive tools ? Range Picker ? Hand tools, Ammeters ? Golf cart batteries ? General cleaning supplies, Personnel Policy Manual

VI. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

? Brings golf carts from cart storage area to staging area outside the clubhouse. Each cart must have scorecard, pencil, proper tire air pressure and full sand bottles prior to being brought to the staging area.

? Checks golf cart for damage and reports/writes down any issues to supervisor.

? Returns carts to cart barn after each use and when closing; replaces pencils, score cards, refills sand bottles. Throws out all trash, washes the cart top to bottom including the under carriage, wipes cart down and parks the cart.

? Follows the golf cart rotation schedule established by the Golf Director.

? Charges the carts nightly by putting the cord into the receptacle and making sure the charger light comes on.

? Fixes flat tires, replaces bearings, wheels, handles, and performs other minor repairs on a as needed basis.

? Tows golf carts from the staging area/course (max. two carts towed) as needed.

? Assures all carts are accounted for each night when closing. If cart(s) are missing they must be accounted for before clocking out.

? Assists in recharging and/or replacing batteries.

? Performs or assists in monthly battery maintenance and keeps appropriate records.

? Operates range picker on the range during shift. Range must be picked clean nightly. Washes all used range balls daily after each retrieval. Mandatory wash before closing.

? Assures range vehicle is stored inside cart barn each night.

? Maintains cleanliness of and order of cart barn inside and out.

? Throws out all trash from the cart barn & surrounding areas nightly before closing.

? Advises golf shop of lost and items left in carts.

? Picks up flags & water coolers nightly on the course.

? Assists in keeping inventory records on equipment used, including MSDS sheets.

? May assist in tournament operations as directed.

? Follows a varying work schedule including weekends and holidays as directed by Golf Director or his designee.

? Performs all job functions with special attention to safety and city policies and procedures related to the job position and any other tasks assigned by Director or designee.

VIII. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Exposure to the following environmental conditions are required for this job.

IX. MANUAL DEXTERITY

Gross and fine finger dexterity are required to perform essential job functions. Gross hand manipulation is performed to grip hand tools to maintain golf carts. Fine finger dexterity is required to hand write notes and work orders on golf carts.
