Work Schedule:
Watch Officers rotate between day and night shifts on a quarterly basis. Shifts follow a "front half/back half" schedule with 12-hour shifts and one 8-hour Sunday shift per week.
- Day Shift: 5:05 AM -- 5:15 PM (MT)
- Night Shift: 5:15 PM -- 5:15 AM (MT)
- Front Half: Sunday (8 hrs) + Monday--Wednesday (12 hrs)
- Back Half: Sunday (8 hrs) + Thursday--Saturday (12 hrs)
Additional Compensation:
7% shift differential for nights, weekends, and after-hours.
Key Duties:
- Be responsible for all facets of a continuous 24/7 Global Network Operations and Security Center.
- Execute network, system, and cloud systems monitoring, environmental monitoring, incident management, and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) cybersecurity support.
- Support and coordinate service maintenance activities, including Change Management, during assigned shifts.
- Manage all aspects of IT incident escalation and resolution, ensuring effective communication of status, plans, and actions to executive leadership and Government stakeholders.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at the time.
- This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. - Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- Active Secret Clearance (or higher).
- Ability to obtain a DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification (ex., Security + with CE).
- 2 or more years of directly related experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical teams and senior/executive leadership.
- Understanding of command-level management.
- Ability to communicate clearly with diverse cultural audiences, VIPs, and dignitaries.
- Ability to serve as a section trainer and develop lesson plans.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Current DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification (ex., Security + with CE).
- Experience working in metrics-based IT Operations and Maintenance (O&M) teams.
- Experience with Remedy and SNMP monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Microfocus NNMi/HPOV, and Systems Center Operations Manager.
- Education or experience with the ITIL framework and ITIL-based processes, including continual service improvement, change management, and problem investigation.
- Background as a Windows/Linux System Administrator supporting a large enterprise, with knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Windows 2008/2012, Linux/UNIX, EMC Storage, Symantec NetBackup, and SCCM Patch Management.
- Hands-on experience as a network engineer, including designing, implementing, and managing network components such as switches, routers, firewalls, and cryptographic devices.
- Experience with cyber defense or information assurance, including the use of DISA-mandated security tools such as ACAS and HBSS, and the ability to analyze results and create reports.
- Network Operations experience in a network operations center or other 24/7/365 IT operations environment.
- Knowledge of IT Network Operations and connectivity devices related to Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Information Security practices.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and the ability to perform system and network security analys s.
- Working knowledge of Tier III Information Assurance practices, IT security governance, security administration, project management, logistics, and cybersecurity compliance requirements.
- Understanding of Quality Assurance/Quality Control inspection processes.
