Do You Thrive on Turning Complex Processes into On‑Spec Product?
Can you bring a Hydrolyzer online, fine‑tune a Fractionator from the console, and coordinate manual valve lineups — all while keeping a vigilant eye on the Stills, O/S, Evaporation Trains, and the Glycerin Refinery? If that sounds like you, read on.
Your Challenge
Operate an advanced computerized control system to safely produce fatty acids to exact customer specifications, using both automated and hands-on controls.
What You’ll Do
- Start up processing units by turning valves, moving handles, and occasionally working overhead; watch the display screens and adjust until product is in spec.
- Use computerized control systems together with manual valves to manage process conditions and throughput.
- Draw samples and run lab tests for Iodine Value, Color, pH, and other properties; run Gas Chromatograph analyses to confirm quality.
- Document lab results and observations in Quality Window to maintain complete quality records.
- Perform emergency equipment shutdowns when necessary and execute the steps precisely.
- Complete routine safety inspections; mitigate hazards or report them promptly to management.
- Inspect machinery and equipment visually and physically twice per shift to spot issues early.
- Report and notify defects to the maintenance department/shift leader immediately; open work orders in the electronic maintenance tracking system.
- Partner with the Maintenance team during shutdowns and repairs, assisting with inspection, installation, and repairs.
- Support Maintenance and Engineering teams with problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Perform Lockout Tag Out and system isolation as required to keep everyone safe.
- Keep assigned areas clean using shovels, mix T’s, and other tools.
- Enter production data and end-of-shift usage into SAP; then conduct a comprehensive control room handover with the relief operator.
- Model the Company principles of Safety, Compliance, Quality, Cost, and KPI excellence — and take on other duties as needed.
How You’ll Make an Impact
You’ll be the steady hand in the control room and in the field — ensuring safe operations, clear documentation, rapid response to equipment conditions, and consistent delivery of quality fatty acids.
