Job Summary:

Position Title: GIS Analyst
Location: Las Vegas, NV 89106

Role Summary

The GIS Analyst Tier 1 will collaborate with the GIS team to improve data organization, perform systematic cleanup of GIS resources, and remove outdated content across both local and enterprise GIS environments. The role also includes supporting election-related GIS activities and integrating GIS updates into election systems.


Key Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive GIS data review and cleanup across:
    • Local project files
    • ArcGIS Online
    • ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Identify and remove outdated or unnecessary GIS products
  • Evaluate, organize, and streamline GIS data and content
  • Collaborate with IT GIS staff and departmental teams
  • Support election-related GIS operations
  • Learn and use election software:
    • Total Vote
    • Total Address

Technical Work

  • Perform GIS data editing and management
  • Create and modify maps (static and web-based)
  • Support:
    • GIS database updates
    • Mapping projects
    • Reporting

Collaboration & Execution

  • Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure:
    • Data integrity
    • Data relevance
  • Work independently as well as within a team
  • Maintain and communicate accurate work status
  • Suggest improvements to enhance team efficiency

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in:
    • Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field
      OR equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years of GIS experience

Technical Skills

  • Intermediate proficiency in:
    • ArcGIS Pro
    • ArcGIS Online
    • ArcGIS Enterprise
  • Experience with:
    • Creating and editing GIS data
    • Developing static and web maps

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to learn Elections systems (Total Vote & Total Address)
  • Experience organizing and cleaning GIS datasets across platforms
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Capability to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred Skills

  • Programming experience:
    • Python
    • Arcade
    • SQL
  • Experience building:
    • ArcGIS web apps
    • Dashboards
    • Web maps
  • Experience integrating multiple data sources into ESRI/ArcGIS platforms
