Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Under general supervision of Under general direction of the Laguna Honda
Medical Director, 2232 LHH Senior Physician Specialists perform the following essential duties:

  • Functions well within interdisciplinary teams in the care of patients
  • Performs essential duties of a physician specialist and primary care physician to an identified
    panel of LHH residents
  • Provides cross-coverage for fellow PCPs as needed
  • Supervises staff as needed
  • Assists in coordinating recruitment, training and staff development activities
  • Assists in overseeing quality improvement activities of the health center (for example, may
    be assigned to lead one of LHH’s quality improvement committees or take on leadership of
    an improvement initiative at the facility)
  • Maintains collaboration with specialists, community collaborators and partners
  • Assists in policy development for the facility
  • Participates in Professional Activities committees
  • Serves as a Disaster Service worker

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Current valid licensure issued by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California*
  2. Valid Board Certification or eligibility in the appropriate medical specialty area for the assigned facility or division**
  3. Valid Drug Enforcement Agency registration with the United States Department of Justice***

license to practice medicine issued by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of

Desired Qualifications:

  1. Experience with aging or geriatric populations
  2. While additional training beyond residency is not necessary for employment, we welcome applicants
    with additional training especially in the areas of geriatrics, addiction medicine, palliative care,
    infectious diseases, and behavioral health
