Position Title: Geographic Information Systems, Technology & Engineer Fellow
Hourly Rate: $19.00 (Undergraduate)
All internship positions are onsite and require regular, in-person attendance at the designated work location.
OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:
The GIS (Geographic Information System) team is part of the MTA IT department managing central mapping and spatial analytics unit, utilizing software, data, and hardware to manage infrastructure, plan projects, and improve safety. We maintain critical data layers, perform network analysis, visualize complex datasets for decision-making, support operations, transit planning, and emergency response, and maintain the GIS infrastructure for the MTA.
The fellow will be responsible for spatial analysis, cartography, and data management within ArcGIS Pro. Candidate will create, edit, and maintain geospatial data and publish web layers to ArcGIS Online or Enterprise. This position begins in Fall 2026; candidates should be ready to commit minimum of 12‑months in the role.
