Genetec Certified Engineer - Remote Support
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Systems Infrastructure & Security Operations Engineer to oversee the health, maintenance, and optimization of our enterprise surveillance and IT infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for daily system monitoring, troubleshooting server and application errors, managing licensing and certificates, and ensuring the high availability of our critical security environments (including Genetec, CIM, and test platforms).
1. System Monitoring & Health Checks
Monitor Genetec Health Portal and Monitor SAM to ensure continuous uptime and peak performance.
Track gateway emails for real-time ticket status updates, emerging issues, and critical system news.
Utilize OpenManage Enterprise to oversee hardware health and infrastructure metrics.
Analyze CPU processes, specifically tracking metrics and anomalies on P09 and P35 .
Review the Video Wall Dashboard status to ensure operational visibility across the command center.
2. Storage & Server Management
Investigate and resolve storage space issues and device errors within the ErrorCheck Archivers .
Confirm and validate that Archivers have successfully failed back to their designated correct servers following maintenance or disruptions.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex server or role-specific issues across the network.
3. Application & Camera Management (CIM & Genetec)
Confirm CIM (Camera Infrastructure Management) status, proactively addressing and resolving any systemic issues.
Identify and enroll cameras that are absent from the CIM environment.
Regularly review camera feeds and statuses, focusing on resolving hardware in Warning or Error states.
Audit and maintain compliance for SaaS and mobile clients , including reviewing client version states and deploying necessary updates.
4. Maintenance, Licensing, & Compliance
Monitor, manage, and renew RSA certificates to maintain environment security.
Manage software licenses, including the timely renewal of Demo Licenses for the Test environment .
Acknowledge and action system Notice Messages and alerts.
Validate that Test LSS (Life Safety Systems / Local Security Systems) are fully functional and reporting properly.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in IT Systems Administration, Security Operations, or Infrastructure Support.
Platform Expertise: Strong working knowledge of Genetec Security Center , OpenManage Enterprise , and Camera Infrastructure Management (CIM) tools.
Infrastructure Skills: Solid understanding of server failover clusters, archiver storage management, and CPU process monitoring.
Security & Compliance: Experience managing RSA certificates, user client versions (SaaS/Mobile), and software licensing.
Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose hardware errors, camera drops, and server role failures.
Communication: Excellent tracking and communication skills to manage ticket queues and collaborate on system news.
