Qualifications:
Education/Certification
- Master's degree in a related field
- Valid Texas teaching certificate-School Counselor OR
- Licensed Professional Counselor- LPC, as well as Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Master Social Worker- LMSW
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience with demonstrated student success as measured by district standards (e.g., STAAR, District Benchmarks, Curriculum Assessments, etc.).
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices in school safety, crisis intervention, and behavior management
- Ability to plan and provide small group intervention for students identified as at-risk
- Assist teachers in working with at-risk students
- Compile, maintain, and file reports and records of programs
- Coordinate, implement, and monitor at-risk programs
- Ability to analyze campus data
- Demonstrated leadership skills at the campus level
- Serve as a resource for classroom teachers with strategies, plans, and materials
- Provide staff development on campus
