General Service Technician

1. GENERAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN

   Full-Time Position
2. Arlington Auto Care is looking for a dependable, motivated General Service Technician to join our busy automotive repair team. We operate a high-volume, 12-bay facility and need someone who takes pride in working safely, efficiently, and professionally.
3. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level or developing technician who wants steady work, hands-on experience, and the ability to earn additional commission while advancing their mechanical skills.
4. COMPENSATION & COMMISSION OPPORTUNITY
5. In addition to regular pay for general-service duties, technicians can earn additional commission for approved mechanical work they are qualified to perform.
6. Commission work may include:
7. 1. Brake repairs
   2. Wheel alignments
   3. Belt and hose replacement
   4. Battery and charging-system repairs
   5. Suspension and steering repairs
   6. Fluid services
   7. Minor mechanical repairs
   8. Other approved maintenance and repair work
8. This additional commission is paid separately from the technician’s basic general-service duties, creating an opportunity to increase earnings as skills and productivity improve.
9. RESPONSIBILITIES
10. 1. Perform conventional, synthetic-blend, and full-synthetic oil changes
    2. Rotate, balance, install, and repair tires
    3. Check and adjust tire pressures
    4. Inspect and replace air filters, cabin filters, wiper blades, and bulbs
    5. Check and top off vehicle fluids
    6. Perform battery testing and replacement
    7. Complete accurate digital vehicle inspections
    8. Notify the service advisor of safety concerns or additional recommended services
    9. Complete approved mechanical repairs within the technician’s skill level
    10. Properly torque wheels and double-check completed work
    11. Maintain a clean and organized work area
    12. Help keep the parking lot, service bays, and customer vehicles clean
    13. Follow all shop safety procedures and company policies
    14. Assist experienced technicians when needed
11. QUALIFICATIONS
12. 1. Automotive service experience is preferred, but we will consider the right entry-level candidate
    2. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
    3. Dependable transportation and consistent attendance
    4. Ability to safely lift tires, equipment, and automotive parts
    5. Basic automotive knowledge and mechanical ability
    6. Comfortable using shop equipment and digital inspection software
    7. Must work well in a fast-paced team environment
    8. Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
    9. Basic hand tools are preferred
    10. Experience performing brakes, alignments, belts, hoses, or other mechanical repairs is a plus

SCHEDULE

Full-time availability is required. Applicants must be willing to work scheduled weekdays and Saturdays as needed.
