Job Description Summary:
The General Office Assistant position includes various tasks related to our day-to-day activities in University Advancement Operations, including but not limited to items such as data entry in our system (Banner), assisting with daily gift receipts that need to be mailed, reviewing lists or publications to be cross-checked against our database, updating address and other demographic info. in Banner, and other similar projects and tasks as needed. While the position may cover multiple areas of UA Operations, its primary responsibility is within the Prospect Development team, which includes Prospect Research and Prospect Management.
Requirements:
- This position will include a variety of tasks and responsibilities, including clerical duties, front desk reception, data entry, and creating and updating Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint slides, among other general tasks.
- Use of various research tools and systems, as well as the review of various lists, publications, and company information is required.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required, and experience with the Banner database as well as the Salesforce CRM is a plus.
Additional Information:
- The position will be diverse in its workload as it will assist in various offices within University Advancement Operations, primarily Research, but also including Records, Prospect Management, Stewardship, etc.), with a primary focus on Prospect Research and Prospect Management.
- The position will also have the task of periodically watching front reception desks when needed. It will include data entry, especially related to Banner and coding items such as returned mail, as well as formatting documents and spreadsheets, for example.
