Summary:
The General Manager (GM) will oversee and lead our operations in the HVAC, electrical, and plumbing sectors. The GM will be responsible for managing daily business operations, ensuring customer satisfaction, driving growth, and leading cross-functional teams. This role requires deep industry knowledge, strong leadership skills, and the ability to strategically manage and grow all service lines offered within the branch (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, as applicable). Reports directly to the Region Manager and is accountable for the full P&L performance of the branch
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Oversee daily operations across HVAC, electrical, and plumbing divisions.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Develop and implement SOPs to optimize efficiency, quality, and safety.
Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate department managers, technicians, and support staff.
Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Ensure adequate staffing levels and effective scheduling.
Financial Oversight:
Develop and manage budgets, P&L statements, forecasts, and financial targets.
Analyze financial reports to identify areas for improvement.
Implement cost control measures without compromising service quality.
Sales & Business Development:
Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to drive growth and customer acquisition.
Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and suppliers.
Customer Experience:
Ensure exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction.
Handle escalated customer concerns and ensure timely resolution.
Monitor service quality and implement improvements based on feedback.
Strategic Planning:
Set short- and long-term goals aligned with company objectives.
Develop local business strategies to meet growth objectives and execute regional initiatives.
Lead initiatives for expansion, technology adoption, and process improvement.
Requirements:
Proven track record in operational leadership, P&L management, and team development.
Strong financial acumen and data-driven decision-making.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to travel locally for customer site visits, vendor meetings, and occasional corporate/regional meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
5–10 years of progressive leadership experience in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or related industries, including prior general management responsibility.
HVAC/R license, Electrical or Plumbing license (or knowledge of licensing requirements).
Prior general leadership in a home services company.
