Position Summary

The General Manager of Repair Services provides leadership and oversight for all operational, administrative, and financial activities within the Indiana Repair Facility. This role ensures consistent performance across the company’s service footprint by collaborating closely with peer repair-service leaders. The General Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Products and Services.

 

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead and support employees in the Indiana Repair Services facility in partnership with the Supervisor.
  • Oversee all supervisory functions, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance management, and corrective action.
  • Maintain a positive, accountable culture through regular communication and engagement with Group Leaders.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve issues in alignment with company policies and applicable laws.

Operational Excellence

  • Recommend and implement the optimal organizational structure to meet budgeted performance expectations.
  • Ensure employees have the training, tools, procedures, documentation, and equipment needed to perform effectively.
  • Evaluate and optimize facility layout and workflow to maximize efficiency within operational constraints.
  • Assign work based on skill sets and production requirements to achieve output and turnaround goals.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 QMS standards and drive continuous improvement in processes, technology, and methods.

Financial & Resource Management

  • Prepare the annual operating budget for the Indiana Repair Facility.
  • Monitor and manage labor, materials, and facility costs to achieve targeted P&L performance.
  • Oversee scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation to meet customer and financial expectations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Customer Service and Sales to address customer-specific needs, including expedite requests, equipment status, and shipping timelines.
  • Provide timely operational and administrative reports to Management.
  • Offer strategic input to Senior Leadership on planning, personnel, financial matters, and other topics impacting facility performance.

Other Duties

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support facility and company objectives.

 

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) preferred; OR
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience/training; OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills & Competencies

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret business publications, technical procedures, and regulations; write reports and business correspondence; and present information effectively to groups.
Mathematical Skills: Proficiency with percentages, proportions, geometry, and basic algebra.
Reasoning Ability: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to follow written, verbal, or diagrammed instructions.
Computer Skills: Experience with database, HR, inventory, spreadsheet, and word-processing software. Advanced MS Word and Excel skills preferred; PowerPoint experience beneficial.

Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently required to walk, sit, use hands, and reach.
  • Occasionally required to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 70 pounds.
  • Requires close, distance, and color vision.

 

Work Environment

  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and electrical risk.
  • Moderate noise level.
