Miss J’s Cafe is seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead café operations and create an outstanding experience for both guests and team members. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and is passionate about customer service, team development, and operational excellence.

Position Overview

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily café operations, ensuring high standards in guest service, food quality, team performance, and overall business success. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, operational knowledge, and a positive attitude to help drive growth and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day café operations to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Maintain compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and food safety standards
  • Manage inventory levels, product ordering, and supply tracking to reduce waste and shortages
  • Ensure operational standards, cleanliness, and food quality expectations are consistently met

Team Leadership & Staff Development

  • Recruit, train, coach, and supervise café team members, including baristas, servers, and kitchen staff
  • Create and manage staff schedules to support business demands and peak hours
  • Provide ongoing feedback, leadership, and development opportunities to team members
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment

Guest Experience

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a welcoming café atmosphere
  • Address guest concerns and resolve issues professionally and promptly
  • Monitor service quality and support team members in creating memorable guest experiences

Financial & Business Performance

  • Assist in managing café budgets, labor costs, inventory, and operational expenses
  • Review sales and financial reports to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency
  • Ensure accurate cash handling and operational reporting procedures
  • Support initiatives that improve profitability and overall café performance

Marketing & Community Engagement

  • Partner with leadership to support promotions, special events, and marketing initiatives
  • Help drive customer engagement and community involvement
  • Support efforts to attract new guests while building loyalty with existing customers

Quality & Standards

  • Ensure food, beverage, and service quality consistently meet Miss J’s Cafe standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for guests and staff

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a General Manager, Café Manager, or similar hospitality leadership role preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience managing labor, budgets, inventory, and operational performance
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and restaurant compliance standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead under pressure
  • Passion for hospitality, coffee culture, and guest experience

Education & Experience

  • 3–5 years of management experience in a café, restaurant, or food service environment preferred
  • Hospitality management or related education is a plus
