Restaurant General Manager (Day Shift) - Hampton, VA

We're hiring a Restaurant General Manager to lead a busy, welcoming family-dining restaurant in Hampton, VA. If you're a hands-on leader who loves building strong teams, deliveringgreat guest experiences, and running a tight operation-this is a day-shift opportunity with full benefits, a $70,000 salary, and bonus potential.

What You'll Do
  • Lead daily restaurant operations with a strong floor presence and guest-first mindset
  • Hire, train, coach, and retain a high-performing team (FOH/BOH)
  • Set clear expectations, run effective pre-shifts, and build a positive, accountable culture
  • Maintain excellence in food quality, speed of service, cleanliness, and hospitality
  • Manage scheduling, labor targets, and productivity to meet business goals
  • Oversee inventory, ordering, vendor relationships, and cost controls (food, labor, supplies)
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol regulations; maintain inspection readiness
  • Handle guest feedback and resolve issues quickly and professionally
  • Track performance metrics and execute action plans to improve results
  • Partner with ownership/leadership on promotions, local marketing, and community engagement
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of restaurant management experience (GM/AGM preferred)
  • Proven ability to lead teams, reduce turnover, and develop supervisors
  • Strong operational knowledge: labor management, inventory, food safety, and guest service
  • Confident communicator who can coach in the moment and set a steady tone
  • Comfortable with POS systems and basic reporting (sales, labor, COGS)
  • High integrity, reliability, and a "lead by example" work style
  • ServSafe (or willingness to obtain quickly) preferred
Schedule
  • Day shift role (primary daytime hours)
  • Weekend availability expected (as needed for the business)
Pay & Benefits
  • Salary: $70,000
  • Bonus opportunity based on performance
