About the Role

We are looking for a passionate General Manager that can manage all aspects of the business. The General Manager is responsible for hiring and leading a team that delivers excellent customer service. They must manage training and scheduling for all staff, oversee all restaurant administration, maintain the restaurants operational systems, oversee financial reporting and banking, and ensure Salata’s food quality is of the highest standard.

General Manager Core Responsibilities

Typical activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for maintaining excellent customer service by ensuring that only the highest quality food is       being prepared and served to our guests.
  • Manage all aspects of food safety.
  • Ensure that all team members are trained in the Salata way of doing business.
  • Responsible for maintaining an immaculate restaurant by ensuring that everything is clean, organized,       and equipment is properly functioning.
  • Manages all team members schedules, breaks, shift changes, and shift meetings as well as ensuring        that all team members are being trained, cross-trained, and developed.
  • Responsible for administrative duties including banking, reporting, new hire paperwork, employee       documentation, ensuring that employees are being paid properly, receive appropriate benefits, and are being held to company standards.
  • Other duties as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior experience in restaurant industry
  • Management experience is required
  • Experience in hiring, financial reporting, and operations is a plus
  • Must have a TX driver’s license
  • Must have a clear MVR report
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus
  • The willingness to be open to and receive feedback
  • Able to balance multiple tasks at one time in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, or sit.
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms.
  • Climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to reach, bend, walk, and stand for an extended amount of time.
  • The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Supervisory Responsibility

The General Manager position has supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a restaurant work environment setting. Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor restaurant environment/production setting with adequate ventilation. Occasionally be exposed to variable temperatures depending on the season. Daily environmental exposures to heat, cold, and water.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time exempt position. Days and hours of work vary depending on restaurant location. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.

Travel: 10%-20%

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
