Job Title: General Maintenance Technician II
Location: Clayton, NC 27527
Duration: Temp to Perm
Pay: $22 $25/hr (W-2)
Shift: Split Shift, 10:00 AM 6:30 PM (may vary; OT/weekends required)
Overview:
Mid-level maintenance role supporting building and facility systems in an industrial environment. Responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general building systems. Works under general supervision with exposure to both routine and complex maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair low-voltage electrical systems, switchgear, breakers, outlets, and lighting systems
- Perform lighting repairs, lamp replacement, and ballast work
- Conduct preventive maintenance (lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, inspections)
- Perform HVAC control system maintenance and basic plumbing repairs
- Operate aerial and platform lifts safely
- Read schematics, diagrams, and technical specifications
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and safety procedures
- Coordinate with contractors and ensure code compliance
- Maintain facility equipment, fixtures, and systems
- Assist with materials, equipment movement, and work scheduling
- Document work requirements and complete assigned maintenance tasks
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years maintenance experience in related field
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass substance abuse test; may require valid driver's license
- No U.S. work sponsorship; security badge required
- Must provide own tools
- Flexible for shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 50 lbs; frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching
- Work at heights up to 30 ft using lifts/ladders
- Extensive walking and repetitive movement
- Ability to distinguish wire colors
- Use computers and office equipment for documentation
- Maintain professionalism under stress
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or industrial electrical certification
- Licensed electrician experience
- Knowledge of lighting systems and commercial electrical work
- Experience with conduit (rigid/EMT up to 3)
- Familiarity with NEC, wire sizing, transformer sizing, conduit fill calculations
- Experience with 3-phase motors up to 60 HP
- CMMS experience (Maximo, MP2, etc.)
- NFPA 70E training
