We are seeking a General Machinist for the aerospace industry in Windsor, CT. This full-time, permanent role on the 1st shift involves operating manual machining equipment such as lathes, mills, grinders, and specialty machines to repair and manufacture aerospace components with precision and quality.
Responsibilities include:
- Operating horizontal and vertical lathes, mills, grinders, VTLs, Jig Bores, and Bridgeports
- Reading blueprints, travelers, and manuals to determine dimensions and tolerances
- Setting up machines, tooling, and machining sequences
- Measuring, inspecting, and supporting shop operations and repairs
Requirements:
- 1-3+ years manual machining experience, including lathe and milling operations
- Blueprint reading and measurement proficiency (1+ year)
- Problem-solving skills in machining
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Preferred skills include VTL/Jig Bore experience, grinding, Prototrack machining, and aerospace machining background. The role offers a hands-on environment with moderate physical activity in a precision manufacturing setting.
