This role is based at our Corporate Headquarters in Dallas, Texas, with an engaging, collaborative environment, requiring on-site attendance from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

General Liability Claims Specialist

The General Liability Claims Specialist overseas and coordinates the processing of claims by communicating with employees, employers, claim adjusters, carriers, attorneys, state and federal entities. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented and skilled in reporting and processing claims, gathering information, responding to inquiries and assisting in claims reviews, claims resolution and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day claims reporting, responds to claims inquiries and ensures claims are reported timely and accurately.
• Investigate facts to establish negligence, determine liability, and identify other recovery sources by interviewing relevant parties. Gather necessary documentation from clients, such as police reports, estimates, and loss records.
• Handle calls and emails regarding insurance claims of varying complexity and severity.
• Ensures claims management system is updated and regular reports are distributed.
• Communicates claims activity with claimants, employers, claims adjusters, carriers, brokers, supervisors and legal claim statuses through phone and written correspondence.
• Identify and apply jurisdictional factors that may affect claims (e.g., negligence laws, financial limits, immunity). Manage specialized claims, such as fire and theft, in line with local laws, sometimes engaging external experts.
• Conduct research and data entry using designated claims systems.
• Serves as a liaison to other business units to assist with claim-related requests.
• Meet specific claim requirements, including reporting claim details and conducting detailed analysis. Ensures claim actions plans are moving forward and completed.
• Attends claim meetings, claims reviews, mediations, depositions, and hearings as needed.
• Manages the litigation process; ensures timely and cost-effective claims resolution.

Required Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience handling general liability claims.
• High school diploma.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, with strong analytical math skills.
• Excellent conflict resolution, listening, and professional communication skills.
• Outstanding organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills for evaluating claims and making sound decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in handling property or auto claims.
• Bachelor's degree in insurance, business, accounting, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency in Spanish (written and verbal).
• Familiarity with the Food and Beverage Industry.
• Insurance licenses or designations as needed for the role.
