Locums - Durango, Colorado Gastroenterology Opening (IMLC Accepted)

Enjoy practicing GI in beautiful southwest Colorado with a balanced mix of procedures, inpatient care, and call coverage. This is an excellent opportunity to secure May dates now with ongoing coverage beginning September 2026.

• May 4-11 (starting 7:30a)

• Ongoing dates beginning September 2026 (when schedules are released)

• 7 shifts per month total shared among locums

• First Day: 7:30a-5p (Orientation; includes 1-hour unpaid lunch)

• Mon-Fri (Day): 7:30a-5p

  • Onsite scoping + Emergency Room coverage

  • Hourly pay

  • Includes 1-hour unpaid lunch

• Mon-Fri (Night Call): 5p-7:30a

• Sat-Sun: 24-hour call (7:30a-7:30a)

• Call, Scoping, Emergency Room, Inpatient & Outpatient

• Trauma Level III

• FTE: 1.0

• Anesthesiologist onsite

• Rounding required

• Hospitalists handle admissions

• Bread-and-butter GI (ERCP not performed at this facility)

• 12-16 scopes per day - Required

• EGD

• Colonoscopy

• Manometry

• Flexible sigmoidoscopy

• 24-hour pH probe

• Providers must sign all orders and notes

• Locum responsible for completing all physician-requested orders, including pathology orders

  • Pathology results may return after assignment ends and must still be completed in a timely manner

• Preference for providers comfortable treating IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) patients (Required to note)

• Support Staff: MA, NP/PA, RN

• EMR: EPIC

EMR Training Requirements:

• Modules (learn lessons) must be completed prior to virtual training

• Virtual (PPL) training must be completed at least one week prior to first day

• First day details released only after all EMR training is completed

• Board Certified Gastroenterology - Required

• Gastro Fellowship - Required

• Active CO License or Active IMLC (LOQ in hand at time of presentation) - Required

  • Must be willing to apply via IMLC upon acceptance

• Active DEA - Highly Preferred (Required for credentialing; must maintain DEA for duration of assignment)
