Position:- GASTROENTEROLOGY PHYSICIAN
Location:- VA Maine Healthcare System, Togus VA Medical Center, One VA Center, Augusta, ME 04330.
Duration:- 06/01/2026 to 05/30/2031 ( Long term) Schedule:- VA Business Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. The main hospital is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Clinic/Procedure Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Weekend /Holiday On-Call Schedule: One (1) weekend in four (4) rotation (1 weekend on and 3 weekends off) and one (1) holiday in every four (4) holidays rotation. This will require carrying a hospital cell phone/pager and the ability to respond by phone within 15 minutes and in person within 1 hour. Weeknight On-Call Services: Monday-Friday, 4:30 PM to 08:00 AM, one (1) week in every four 36C24126Q0388 Revision 04/01/2025 Page 23 of 52 Page 23 of 52 (4) rotation. 3.1.1. Patients must be seen by a contractor's physician (s) on-site at the facility in a timely manner in accordance with VA Rules and Regulations on clinic wait times and consult completion. Contractor shall notify the COR at least monthly about any obstacles to meeting this performance measure. 3.1.2. Contractor's physician (s) shall be available and present in clinic during normal facility clinic hours, facility which will be established, and may be revised, as deemed appropriate for patient care by the Chief of Staff. Currently, normal clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.. 3.1.3. Off-hours Coverage: Contractor must make the Contractor's physician (s) available on-call during all hours when the facility clinic is closed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. 3.1.3.1. Call will be scheduled one (1) week in four (4), including one (1) weekend in every four (4) and one holiday in every four (4) holidays rotation 3.1.3.2. On-call contractor's physician(s) must be available at all times for phone consultations with VA residents and physicians. 3.1.3.3. Patients must be seen within 60 minutes of the page when medically indicated.

Services Provided: The Contractor shall provide Board Certified /Board Eligible Gastroenterology Physician Services on site in accordance with the specifications contained herein to beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the VA Maine Healthcare System, Togus VAMC (hereinafter referred to as VAMC). The Contractor's physician (s)' care shall cover the range of Gastroenterology services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art health care medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards as established by the American College of Physicians-Internal Medicine Clinical Practice Guidelines and Recommendations | ACP (acponline.org) and American College of Gastroenterology Guidelines: Guidelines - American College of Gastroenterology (gi.org)
