Gastroenterology Lab Technician - Contract

Job Title: GI Technician

Location: Lawrenceville, GA 30046
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Days | 4x10-hour shifts (40 hours/week)
Shift Hours: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Varies)

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent GI Technician experience within the specialty.
• No local candidates within 50 miles of the facility.
• Required Certification:
  • AHA BLS

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nursing staff during diagnostic and interventional GI and pulmonary procedures.
• Prepare procedure rooms, endoscopes, instruments, and accessories prior to each case.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain endoscopic equipment according to infection control standards.
• Monitor and assist with patient positioning, safety, and comfort throughout procedures.
• Maintain adequate inventory of GI supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Accurately document procedure information and ensure compliance with department protocols.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient patient flow and timely procedure turnover.
• Follow all hospital policies and infection prevention guidelines.

Unit Details

• Unit: 6660V GI Lab – GI Lab Tech
• Inpatient and outpatient GI Lab performing diagnostic and interventional GI and pulmonary procedures.
• Experience with the following procedures is required:
  • ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
  • SpyGlass procedures
  • Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
  • Navigation Bronchoscopy

Position Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Day shift with four 10-hour shifts per week.
