Job Title GA for Campus Wellness - Student Life & Wellbeing - Graduate Assistant Department SLWB Business Office Essential Functions
The Campus Wellness Graduate Assistant will enhance campus-wide wellness initiatives by providing expertise in the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of projects related to mental health and wellbeing. The position is split between two initiatives on UNO's campus: Wellness Coaching and the JED Campus.
In relation to Wellness Coaching initiatives, the Graduate Assistant will receive a certification as an ACE Health Coach and co-lead efforts for the Peer Mentor program as well assist in supervising peer mentors.
For the JED Campus initiative, the Graduate Assistant will work collaboratively and creatively with a multidisciplinary team to provide administrative support for implementing the JED Campus for student mental health and wellbeing.
This individual will work closely with Campus Recreation and Wellness, and Durango's Advancement and Support Hub (DASH) staff and students. They will collaborate and network with a variety of campus and community partners to help with programming and recognition of resources on campus that align with the eight dimensions of wellness. In performing this work, the Graduate Assistant will demonstrate a commitment to empathy and holistic wellness by respecting and uplifting various backgrounds and experiences and practicing cultural and situational awareness and sensitivity through actions, interactions, and communications with students, staff, faculty, community, and stakeholders.
This is a calendar year position with appointment dates from 7/1/26 to 6/30/27.
30% Work on JED Campus Initiative
40% Work on Wellness Coaching Initiative
30% Other Wellness and Departmental Initiatives
Work Schedule Primarily M-F, 8am-5pm Additional Duties Required Qualifications
Seeking graduate degree at UNO.
Exceptional oral, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to employ tact and diplomacy in sensitive situations.
Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, belonging, and cultural and situational awareness and sensitivity through actions, interactions, and communications with others.
Highly organized with strong project coordination skills, including ability to work independently, resourcefulness, attention to detail, and time management.
Strong proficiency in key computer applications (Word, PowerPoint, Canva) and basic proficiency or willingness to learn others (Excel, Vyond, Venngage).
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute as a positive team player.
Demonstrated strategic thinking and creativity.
Preferred Qualifications
Seeking master's degree in health education, health promotion, communications, marketing, public relations, public health, social work, education, sociology, psychology, or related area.
Experience working with diverse populations and/or developing culturally inclusive communications and working with and/or advocating on behalf of marginalized people.
Experience working in a higher education environment or with college-aged individuals.
Articulated knowledge of issues affecting contemporary college students' mental health and wellbeing.

Salary $1708.16/month (plus tuition remission)
