Anticipated Funded through FY2027 Perkins, Skills USA coaches will work collaboratively with the Skills USA advisor(s) and Career and Technical Education Director to increase awareness, provide support and offer opportunities for students (and staff) to participate in Skills USA. This is a grant funded stipend position, contingent on the availability and funding of Perkins, with responsibilities and compensation detailed below. Major Responsibilities:
- Recruit, coach, and share pertinent SkillsUSA information with students in your pathway.
- Attend and chaperone trips for Skills USA including but not limited to Nationals, State and Leadership Conferences/Competitions.
- Mentor Skills USA Leadership Team Officers as well as contest and conference participants.
- Offer/attend coaching sessions, pathway meetings, or coaches meetings at least twice a month afterschool, possibly more during peak month (April and June)
- Assist with coordination of field trips.
- Present Skills USA updates and information at Pathway meetings.
- Assist with fundraising and community service events and supervision as needed, including attending one event outside of school hours.
- Assist with student registration and paperwork as needed.
- Assist in the set up and execution of Skills USA qualifying assessments and in-house competitions.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Career and Technical Education.
Qualifications:
- Experienced in developing and providing exploratory opportunities for students.
- Self-motivated; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, through email and on the telephone.
Additional Requirements:
- This position includes but is not limited to: interacting with the public, walking around the school, standing for periods, occasionally lifting and carrying items, reading documents, using a computer, listening and speaking, using office equipment, maintaining energy throughout the day, and handling stress effectively.
Terms of Employment:
- Grant-funded stipend position, contingent on the availability of Perkins funding.
Effective Dates of Employment:
- This is a stipend position for the 2026-2027 school year.
- The person who fills this position will be the contact for any relevant and important information prior to the start of the school year.
- All coaches are required to serve as chaperones at the Skills USA State Competition in Marlboro, MA (dates anticipated April 29-May 1, 2027). The stipend for coaches will be $1,250.
- All coaches with qualifying pathway Skills USA students are required to serve as chaperones at the Skills USA National Competition in Atlanta, GA (dates Jun 21-26, 2027) for an additional $500.

Compensation:
- The total stipend for this position is $1,250 - $1,750.00 for the entire assignment.
