NorthStar Memorial Group is looking for a Funeral Home Operations Lead at Greenwood Memorial Park, Mortuary and Crematory in San Diego, CA. The Funeral Home Operations Lead supports funeral home operations by leading and supporting Funeral Directors, Funeral Arrangers, and partnering with the Funeral Support Supervisor(s) to deliver superior service to families. This role ensures seamless service delivery and exceptional support to the families we serve. The Funeral Home Operations Lead is responsible for ensuring that all services are conducted with the utmost professionalism and compassion, providing exceptional support to families.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and monitor the daily funeral home at-need arrangement schedule
- Prepare and provide the daily funeral home service schedule and coverage
- Partner with the funeral support supervisor, funeral arrangers, and funeral directors to ensure there is proper staff coverage for services
- Monitor and approve timecards for Funeral Arrangers and Funeral Directors.
- Track inventory and order supplies necessary for services and arrangement meetings
- Assist Funeral Directors with events held on site, including services and arrangement conferences
- Meet with families to make AN arrangements (limited)
- Create funeral contracts and collect payments
- Lead funeral services when possible
- Monitor and maintain quality obituary information on the website
- Support and train team members to ensure all client families are provided with timely, courteous, and exceptional service.
- Contribute to, monitor and motivate team to succeed in key performance indicators (KPIs) such as ECHO appointment setting, obituaries, package uptake, and Reputation scores
- Ensures that all federal, state, and local regulations related to the funeral industry are followed
Compensation range of $25-27/hr.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Valid drivers license
- Current license or certification if required by state regulations
- 3+ years of funeral industry experience
- Basic computer skills
