Position Overview

We are seeking an Electrification Safety & Compliance Engineer to backfill a key role on our compliance team, fully on-site in Mossville, IL. This team demonstrates compliance to industry safety standards, and you will work alongside design and development teams to review a range of battery, charger, and powertrain components, ensuring requirements are understood and met. You will work within applicable standards and regulatory requirements for electrified products across different regions, conducting risk assessments, standards evaluations, and compliance reviews using established methodologies and sound engineering judgment.

 

This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative electrification products across our machinery portfolio, engaging regularly with design and validation teams to develop practical solutions and share best practices.

Key Contributions & Responsibilities

•         Work with the team to understand product requirements and identify appropriate risk mitigations for new products.

•         Discuss requirements with engineering teams and support the development of technical reports that demonstrate compliance with applicable standards.

•         Monitor actions, track progress, and provide regular updates to the team and Project Leads.

•         Lead efficient product review meetings with clear outcomes and assigned actions.

•         Occasionally oversee product testing and assembly to validate compliance in practice.

Team Structure & Work Environment

•         You will join a team of 10, working alongside compliance leads in support of a range of products, and engaging directly with a global team of design and development engineers. You will also work closely with Project Leads to identify and manage tasks.

•         Work environment is mainly office-based, with opportunities to oversee product testing and assembly (expected to be less than 20% of working time). Safety shoes are required when overseeing testing. This is a fully on-site role in Mossville, IL.

Requirements

Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree;
  • 3 years accepted with a Master’s degree. Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Electrical Engineering.  

Top 3 Skills

•         A strong combination of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and interpersonal skills; awareness of safety standards is an advantage but not essential.

•         High attention to detail when reviewing assessments, technical reports, and cross-functional updates.

•         Ability to lead efficient product review meetings with clear outcomes and assigned actions.

Required Technical Skills

•         Risk identification and management through structured risk assessments or DFMEA.

Desired Technical Skills

•         Functional safety of control systems.

•         Product certification experience.

•         Data manipulation and presentation skills using tools such as MS Excel, Power BI, or Power Automate.

Required Soft Skills

•         Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and through formal documentation.

•         Ability to engage with engineers, understand technical constraints, and find compromise solutions to problems.

•         Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks, chair meetings, and drive progress independently.
