Job Description
We are seeking a Software Engineer III to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in systems software, databases, and SDLC practices and a proven ability to design, develop, test, and evaluate software and database systems.
Responsibilities:
- Modify existing databases and database management systems.
- Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers for the management system or direct others in coding descriptions.
- Collaborate with project teams to coordinate database development and define project scope and limitations.
- Review project requests, assess user needs, and estimate time and cost to deliver solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency with database concepts and development tools such as SQL and Visual Basic or similar technologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time, and mentor peers with constructive feedback.
- Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle from analysis and requirements through testing and delivery.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and implement system changes to resolve problems.
- Understanding of computer hardware and operating systems concepts.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with operating systems-level software, compilers, or network distribution software.
- Background in applications for medical, industrial, communications, aerospace, business, or scientific domains.
